The Apostle John tells us, "God IS Love" in his first epistle, chapter 4:8. God himself declares in Leviticus 19, "I AM Holy." But what do these qualities of God actually mean? We throw around the word "love" in such a way that it loses its meaning to us. Words like "awesome" are another such example. And the word "holy" is one that we do use, but perhaps thoughtlessly.
- Before you read and annotate these chapters from Tozer, spend a little time reflecting on these two words. Take each in their turn. In your journal, write out what you believe these words mean, generally, and then particularly as they relate to God: What does it mean that God is Love? That he is Holy?
- Then, prayerfully read & annotate these chapters from Tozer.
- In your journal, respond to what you've read. Consider how your own thoughts on God's Love and Holiness compare to Tozer's.
- Due: Tuesday December 15, 2015
