Kevin Emmert spoke to us on March 2, 2016. Kevin, former editor of Christianity Today, now working at Moody Publishers in Chicago, brought us his expertise on the life, influence, and legacy of John Calvin. Kevin is pursuing his Ph.D at the London School of Theology where he is studying John Calvin's theology. You can find some of his work here and here. Mary (Cagney) Carrington spoke to our class on March 16, 2016. Mary arrived in the US from Ireland in 1995 to study at Wheaton College where she obtained a master's in communications. She has had a number of articles published in Christianity Today and her article about St. Patrick was published in Christian History in 1998. Recently, she wrote a number of articles for The Encyclopedia of Christianity in the United States which is being published by Rowan & Littlefield in November 2016.
She currently works in the physics department and Special Collections and Archives department at Wheaton College. A native of Ireland where she grew up, Mary is passionate about communicating the treasures of Celtic Christianity to an American audience. On April 5, 2016, Dr. Jerry Root and Mark Neal spoke on C.S. Lewis' life, faith journey, and impact & legacy for Christian spiritual formation. In particular, they speak to the uses and abuses of the imagination (as Lewis identified them), and their impact on our Christian formation. They've just coauthored a book together entitled, The Surprising Imagination of C.S. Lewis. You can see their recent talk at the Marion E.
